    some questions!

Why would I see a Chiropractor?
Chiropractors care for those who experience neck and back pain, headaches, tiredness, stress, anxiety, depression, weight problems, poor digestion, allergies and weak immunity to name a few.  Chiropractors also manage sporting injuries and muscle-related pain.

They are also the first port of call for many parents of children who experience colic, ADHD, bedwetting and asthma.

Our nervous system controls all our daily life functions. It enables us to digest food, enjoy a sunset, run to catch the bus and ward off infections. Any disruption or interference to the nervous system can dramatically affect the way our bodies work..

What does a Chiropractic adjustment feel like?
Like lifting a heavy rock off your toe, our patients often describe a sense of release and relief following their adjustments.

Our chiropractors use different adjusting techniques depending on your condition and needs. We employ the use of an 'activator' which looks a little bit like a small pogo stick. It's about 20cm long with a rubber foot the size of your thumb. When it is pushed down, it delivers a controlled amount of force, like a flick. It is painless and is used as an alternative to more manual methods. A Chiropractor uses their hands to apply pressure to different parts of the spine . A chiropractor also uses a special table with sections that can be raised and lowered in order to use a patient's own body weight to achieve a gentle adjustment.

We use the activator in combination with some manual techniques and Applied Kinesiology to ensure you receive thorough care.

How many adjustments will I need?
Sometimes the best way to answer a question is with another question: How long would you like to be healthy for?

The frequency of adjustments varies with each patient and their individual health goals. Many patients notice improvement within a week or two of regular visits. Visits become less often as your spine stabilises. Keep in mind that your spine didn't become unstable overnight. Some conditions may have been developing over a period of months or even years.

Is it safe for pregnant patients to have chiropractic care?
Yes. Pregnancy is one of the best times to receive chiropractic care. Chiropractic adjustments clear your nervous system of the interference that has been built through a lifetime of knocks and falls. Interference allows for miscommunication between your brain and reproductive organs. While it's always good to have an optimally functioning nervous system, it's especially helpful now. Both mother and baby can benefit. Adjusting methods are adapted to an expectant mother's size, weight, and condition. During this period of weight gain and hormonal changes, many mothers seek chiropractic care.

Why would a child need to see a chiropractor?
Birth trauma: Even 'normal' childbirth methods take a toll on a baby's spine. Even Caesarean deliveries.

Colic: Unexplained continuous crying. Babies cry because they have no other way of communicating their discomfort. Many babies (and parents) experience extraordinary relief with chiropractic care.

Ear infections/otitis media: Mechanical tension in the upper spine can compromise the inner ear and Eustachian tubes, becoming fertile ground for infection.

Asthma: The diapghram is the primary muscle used for breathing. The nerves that control breathing leave from between the vertebrae in the mid neck. Spinal problems in this area can have a profound effect on the nerve supply to the diapghragm.

We see many families with kids from newborns to teenagers... Some even lend a hand!

Our kids LOVE their adjustments. After a hard day's playing, sometimes an adjustment is just what they need. Not only do children require a much lighter adjustment than adults receive, children tend to respond rapidly. One adjustment in the child is worth fifty in the adult. Preventing and resolving spinal problems during early development will help your child avoid issues later in life. Thus the old adage, "As the twig is bent, so grows the tree."
